The Foreign Business Act of 1999 (The Foreign Business Act B.E. 2542) gives the basic concept of who is a foreigner in Thailand, and also discloses the conditions, requirements, exceptions and procedures for obtaining a business permit in Thailand. If the types of activities belong to the list of prohibited in Thailand for foreigners, the company is obliged to obtain a license to conduct this activity (Foreign Business Licenses – FBL). There are certain types of activities for which it is necessary to obtain a license or permits, such as hotel business, opening of production, import or trade of alcoholic beverages, obtaining a license (certification) for food, dietary supplements and medicines (Food and Drug licenses – FDA).
